Samsung’s new affordable Android smartphone, the Galaxy M05, has been introduced in India as the successor to last year’s Galaxy M04.
Thanks to the Indian division of Amazon, an early listing of the new model appeared on the Internet. Apart from the price and the release date, we now have an idea of what the smartphone will look like.
Samsung Galaxy M05 key specifications
The latest entry-level member brings a 6.7-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. In comparison, the Galaxy M04 came with a smaller 6.5-inch PLS LCD display with HD+ resolution.
However, the biggest upgrade is the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, which is said to be a much better piece of hardware than Galaxy M04’s MediaTek Helio P35.

Images suggest that the first iteration of the model will be mint green. Apart from a dual 50 MP + 2 MP main camera and an 8 MP front camera, it will be paired with 4/6GB RAM and 64GB storage. It can also be expanded via a microSD card slot for additional needs.
The phone also comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 25W charging, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C charging port. It is said that it will work on an Android 14 operating system and One UI 6. The phone is confirmed to receive two OS updates and four years of security patches.
No global release date has been revealed so far, however, Amazon states the price tag is ₹7,999 INR ($95). It is already available for purchase on Amazon India, and retail stores across the country.
The South Korean brand recently launched the Galaxy A06 in the country.
As ReadWrite reported earlier, Samsung’s next major release is its Galaxy S25 range, which will likely launch in early 2025. This follows the trend of recent Galaxy S generations.
